Check out one of their colorful cocktails like the Va-jay or Purple Kool-Aid while you're at it.

Why Kiki

This is the Place for Everyone, Why Kiki offers a one of a kind Salt Lake experience. For a daytime reset, Sugar House Coffee is queer-friendly, good for working, and has unisex bathrooms.

And if you’re merrymaking on a tight budget, Try-Angles has your back with $5 beer steins. Heads up for the party animals: liquor laws are strict here (think carefully measured drinks served strictly one at a time). MILK+ and Area 51 cover the late-night dance and themed-party range, with different rooms and crowds.

The ambiance is cool yet intimate—no matter who you prefer to cozy up with at a corner table.

Many of you may also be a bit curious about the world’s top transgender dating site, MyTransgenderDate. Check out their Sunday Drag Brunch or the weekly drag shows that have a new theme each week. Don’t worry, men can meet men in your area at plenty of spots around town.

Best Lesbian Bars & Clubs in Salt Lake City

Along those same lines we are not aware of any straight up lesbian bars in SLC for women to meet women.

The Utah Pride Center also hosts year-round community programming. It’s compact, easy to get around, and you can mix nightlife with outdoors in the same weekend. The SunTrapp is a solid, casual gay bar with a patio and karaoke.

For most travelers, late spring through early fall works best. Luckily those days are long behind us, and now we want to tell you about a quicker and more discreet way to make this happen.

We also know that not all of you reading this are in the same position as far as status goes and there are probably some who won’t be too keen on having their photos taken at a gay bar.

Also, if you think any venues should be listed as solely places for men to meet men or women to meet women that would also be great.

There really is not one main local gayborhood or gay area in SLC, but at least you have some options unlike Provo where there really is nothing available. We used to live in a world where things were far less inclusive, but these days most venues have become more LGBT friendly instead of being strictly local gay bars.

Red Butte Garden, Salt Lake Temple (note - you can only go in if you are Mormon), and Clark Planetarium are other unique spots to hit around town.

Surrounded by mountains, blending the outdoors and the urban, and seriously good looking (both natural landscape and clean-cut blonde Mormons contributing), this is a city that’s way more than its stereotypes—and more than worth a visit.

If you are trying to locate the best gay and lesbian bars or clubs in Salt Lake City you are in the right place.

We hope you make the most of the information at hand.

Salt Lake City can surprise you as an LGBTQ+ trip. We know the scene here pretty well, but not as well as the people who live it every week.

If you happen to notice anything out of date on this page or if we left some place off that is a can’t miss please use the comments to let us know.

Queer life has really grown here—the influence of the church has loosened up quite a bit, and today there’s even a Mormon contingent marching in the Pride parade.

The most LGBTQ-friendly neighborhoods here include Marmalade, downtown, the university neighborhoods, and 9th & 9th. Winter brings ski traffic and higher prices, but it’s a fun time if you want day trips to the slopes plus club nights.

Best LGBT Dating Sites

It used to be that the local gay bars were just about your only choice if you wanted to find other LGBT people near you for dating or hook ups.

For venues, start at Why KiKi for drag shows and a strong brunch scene, plus all-gender restrooms. It would be quite silly for us to leave out the best LGBT dating sites these days when everyone has a device glued to their hand all day.

Not everyone likes to do things the same way so we are trying to cover all the bases so that you can go with the one that sounds best for your needs and desires.

So if you’re feeling especially thirsty, you may want to pour a few cocktails before heading out to the Salt Lake City gay bars.

With the gorgeous mountain setting, other activities here skew outdoorsy—naturally.
