A montage of loved ones reuniting at the episode's end sees Kaldur approached by Wyynde - a former member of the Atlantean Purist movement, who sought to remove Arthur Curry from the throne of Atlantis in Young Justice season 1.
The brief scene ends with the two young men holding hands and then kissing.
What's interesting is that Kaldur spends most of the "Quiet Conversations" helping a young metahuman woman, who developed the inability to breath air along with the power to breathe underwater following an encounter with Klarion The Witch Boy, to become acclimated to life in Atlantis.

The Hardware idea was one that came out of Black creators who felt like that was happening to them in the comic book industry, as well as the entertainment industry as large, and it’s a theme Thomas is continuing to explore here. Thomas is Black, and while he isn’t part of the LGBTQ+ community himself, he felt connected with Jackson Hyde emotionally.
“There’s a way that I always feel that Black and brown characters should be depicted that they sometimes aren’t in comics, so that’s a big thing for me.
“So a lot of these feelings unfortunately are mine, too.”
Jackson tries to avoid those feelings that he doesn’t want to feel, or acknowledge. Studious and mature beyond his years, Kaldur threw himself into the role of superhero, holding the responsibilities of his position in high honor. Now he gets to set up that potential future that he created with an opportunity he never imagined.
However, at the end of Rebirth, they get married and eventually have a daughter named Andrina.
Apart from Mera, Arthur has been involved with several other women in his comic book history.
In the 2011 comic book crossover story arc Flashpoint, Barry Allen changes the timeline when an attempt to save his mother from being murdered goes wrong.
In this movie, Arthur Curry and Mera are involved with each other, the culmination of which is a kiss they share towards the end of the film. The two end up getting close until Arthur remembers Mera is back in Atlantis.
Kaldur’ahm
Kaldur’ahm became the new Aquaman after the latter left to become the King of Atlantis.
He would, later on, secede from the Aquaman title and take up his birthright as the King of Atlantis. Aquaman/Green Arrow: Deep Target #1 comes out next month.
