The association has member leagues in over 30 cities throughout the United States, and many of them participate in the ASANA Softball World Series, which is hosted each year in a different member city.

MORE ABOUT US

ASANA is a proud member of the Sports Diversity Leadership Council

These companies and organizations support ASANA at an organizational level, helping us power leagues and events across the country.

This year the GSWS is in Houston, TX from September 22nd to 27th, 2025. A final determination of division starts will not be made until roster lock has occurred just a couple of weeks prior to the GSWS in September.

When will my division start play?

The final determination of when each division will start will not be made until the final schedule is completed just 2 weeks before we all arrive in Houston in September.

That may seem like a long way away, but the first step is finding coaches.

WESA is eligible to send the following teams to GSWS, subject to WESA player and coach interest:
· One All Association E division team
· One All Association D division team
· One All Association C division team; and
· Legends C and/or D division teams (players must be turning 50 or older in 2024).

Players from any WESA tier may attend: the GSWS division they play in is determined by their NQ, not the WESA tier they participate in.

There are limited exceptions to this rule. Check your division schedule to find your actual start time for your division.

When will I play my games in GSWS?

B, C, D, E, & Legends D divisions should be prepared to start pool play games on Tuesday.  And its important to note that all financial expenses incurred by players, and their teams, are theirs to cover.

Please contact the commissioner of the league you are registered and play in for more details on teams looking for players for the tournament.

What is Pick A Stick?

International Pride Softball utilizes pick a stick as a fair play tool, ensuring that everyone uses the same equipment.  More than 5,000 participants from our sister leagues across North America will come together to compete again for the GSWS.

The only exceptions to this would be for the Legends C and A divisions, who should be prepared to start pool play on Wednesday. This is subject to change.  However, to assist the members travelling to the GSWS, the league has arranged for a BBQ fundraiser at Junction Public House, usually held in May.  This popular event is a great opportunity to raise money and to support your fellow WESA members as they prepare for representing our league in Las Vegas in October.

To express interest in playing on a Vancouver team at the 2024 GSWS, please use the form to be active on April 15.  For more details on the official policy for sending GSWS teams please see the WESA Governing Manual.

About Vancouver Teams
2024
As a member of WESA, you are eligible to play on one of the teams travelling to the Gay Softball World Series (GSWS) in Las Vegas in 2024 this October.

Players, except for the A, B and Legends divisions must play with a team in your league.

How do I find the rules for the GSWS?

GSWS rules will be found HERE.  The Vancouver Batmen created a unique design with a very Canadian flavour.

What to expect at the GSWS
Playing in the Gay Softball World Series is a great opportunity to bond with your fellow WESA members and visit other parts of North America.  iPride Softball is fortunate to have member cities that also play host to other major attractions including State Fairs, world-class cuisine, and Major League Baseball teams.  Of course, players also make new friends from member leagues from Fort Lauderdale to San Diego, from Hamilton to Ohio.

As a coach, you have the authority and responsibility to organize your team, recruit your players, and manage it for the tournament. Local sponsors and partners who support a specific World Series can be found on that event’s page.
