Are kirk and spock gay

Maybe it has to do with fact that K/S is, I think, still the most popular fandom and this makes it open for condemnation. And that’s just talking about the better-known identities; others were practically mythic. Underground to me means not for public consumption—no articles in magazines and newspapers; no stories on TV about it; no common knowledge of it at all.

  Such fanzine writing is myopic, in that the writer seems unable to handle anything other than a dark Kirk/Spock relationship. Honestly, guys, we're not getting more creative, just kinkier. To me, slash is the final step in their relationship.

  

  To those of you whose creations I've loved, I want to say how much I miss you. A friend told me that, last year while attending a panel discussion at a con in Southern California, she was actually afraid to admit being a K/S fan because of the critical comments of others.

  For those who are unhappy about K/S on the net, I agree that net fandom can be scary.

  Would you venture to say, "Under no circumstances at all"? But a situation has been going on for some time and I feel I must speak out. Such fanzine writing is myopic, in that the writer seems unable to handle anything other than a dark Kirk/Spock relationship. But since sex in all of its various and deviant forms, already exists with fairly well-defined basics, the people without the experience are standing out like sore...well, make up your own analogy.

  When asked about his views on Kirk and Spock, Gene answered:
